In our efforts to continually enhance the functionality and value of our WAM!NET® Services, we will be performing scheduled maintenance on:

  • Date: Saturday, November 15, 2014
  • Start Time: 08:00 CST (GMT-06:00)
  • Duration: 6 hours

New Features and Updates:

  • CDN enabled asset linking with HLS streaming

      We are further improving your ability to post links to files housed in WAM!NET libraries for broad consumption. We have integrated the WAM!NET asset linking feature with the Level3 CDN to provide a seamless B2C content publishing experience that includes HLS streaming. Following this release, you can contact technical support to request CDN enabled asset linking to be turned on for your WAM!NET customization.

  • Faster video transcoding

      We are upgrading our video transcoding farm with new technology that will provide faster processing, increased scalability, and improved source video compatibility.

  • UDP file transfers

      We are adding a new UDP acceleration option to our file transfer appliances that currently use multi-thread TCP acceleration. This UDP option can be configured by CenturyLink on appliances for specific trading relationships to provide additional acceleration gains under certain network conditions.

  • Additional Updates:
    • We are introducing a new customization option to display all recipients of an eFolio within the eFolio email message. Following this release, you can contact technical support to request this option to be turned on for your WAM!NET customization.
    • We are implementing a few updates for minor security issues following a security audit.

  • Retirement Notices:
    • The WAM!NET Service will no longer be supported on Mac OSX 10.5 following this release.

Availability of Services during Maintenance

  • Within the 6 hour maintenance period, all Direct! and Direct!IP file transfer appliances will be offline for up to thirty (30) minutes for software maintenance updates and rebooting. Any packages currently shipping will restart after the upgrade.
  • All WAM!NET Central Services will be unavailable during this window.
  • File transfer appliances will be able to send files to other file transfer appliances, however package tracking and notifications will be unavailable during this time.
