Saturday, March 21, 2015 02:00 to 14:00 CDT (GMT-05:00)

We will be performing maintenance during this time to enhance the WAM!NET Services.

New Features and Updates:

  • CDN enabled asset linking with HLS streaming and oembed compatibility

CDN enabled asset linking will now be available to all customers without requiring a service customization allowing you to more easily provide a seamless B2C content publishing experience that includes HTTP Live Streaming (HLS). Video and audio view links will also be oembed compatible for improved linking via popular web CMS tools like WordPress.

  • Manage busy file transfer queues remotely

During those peak file transfer hours you can remotely access the enhanced file transfer dashboard in the WAM!NET Portal to expedite critical packages of files in real-time to adjust to your changing delivery deadlines.

If you are unfamiliar with the file transfer dashboard, you can find it in the WAM!NET Portal on the Administration tab to the far right of each file transfer resource in your resource list.

Simply click the dashboard icon to display the dashboard for that resource.

  • eFolio file sharing now with expanded durations and more recipient context

As you expand your use of eFolio file sharing, we continue to respond to your feedback by improving the user experience now with expanded available eFolio expiration duration options up to 360 days and the option to display all recipients of an eFolio within the eFolio email message.

  • New version 3.10 of Transmission Director X (TDX)

This new version of TDX uses Java 1.8 for forward compatibility and security updates with Mac OSX 10.9+. It has also been enhanced so it can be launched from the task bar on Windows 7 & 8. The address list on the Create Package window has also been expanded to improve usability. TDX 3.10 will be available for download from the software section of the home tab in the WAM!NET Portal following this release.

  • An updated alternative to TDX for environments that can’t install third-party software

The Transmission Web Client (TWC) is a great alternative to TDX for use with your file transfer appliance when you can’t install third-party software on your desktop. Now TWC has an updated look that is better aligned with the WAM!NET Portal and supports custom branding for easier adoption. See for yourself by browsing to your local file transfer appliance using http://{appliance ip address}:15100.

  • New version 2.5 of Transmission Scriptable Client

Version 2.5 of TSC is deployed with Java 1.8 for forward compatibility and security updates with Mac OSX 10.9+. If you upgrade from TSC 2.3.x, please note that TSC 2.5 with Java 1.8 requires your proxy to use SSL certificates chained to a 2048-bit RSA or ECC root instead of a traditional 1024-bit root.

  • Additional Updates:
    • We have tightened procedures around user profile changes to improve service security. Now changes to security related user profile items including password and email address will require your existing password to be re-entered within an active session to help prevent session hijacking.
    • All WAM!NET resources will now have a Description field allowing administrators to note workflow intentions of each to simplify on-going administration.
    • We are improving overall security and performance by upgrading several underlying software components.
    • Additional tuning of video transcoding quality and performance.

  • Retirement Notices:
    • Transmission Director X (TDX) versions 3.8.x and Transmission Scriptable Client (TSC) versions 2.3.x are scheduled to be retired on July 1, 2015. Please make plans to upgrade to TDX 3.10 and TSC 2.5 following this release and before July 1.
